SMART LIVING - Research and Projects on Technologies for Living Environments
Venetian Green Building Cluster (VeGBC), a Regional Innovative Network recognized by the Veneto Region, brings together companies, universities and trade associations in the Veneto region to accelerate the green transformation of the entire construction sector, supporting processes of urban regeneration and sustainable building, promoting new business models related to the development of smart cities, Industry 4.0, the transformation of the real estate market, and limiting land consumption.
On Thursday, February 9, at 2:30 p.m., the event entitled Smart Living – Research and Projects on Technologies for Living Environments will be held at the Sala dei Giganti in Palazzo Liviano, Padua. The event is co-organized by the University of Padua and the Veneto Regional Innovative Networks dedicated to the themes of smart and sustainable living environments, and will feature the participation of the National Technological Cluster on Smart Living Technologies (SMILE) with its new “European Digital Innovation Hub” (EDIH) project, which will have an important node in Padua, and by the mighty Triveneto innovation ecosystem project iNEST (Interconnected Northeast Innovation Ecosystem), which, coordinated by the University of Padua and developed with the other eight Triveneto universities and dozens of affiliated partners, has received more than €110M in funding from the PNRR.
The event, in the presence of Councillor Roberto Marcato (Economic Development – Energy – Special Law for Venice), and Magnifica Rettrice Daniela Mapelli, will focus on the presentation of the results of three important research projects. SAFE PLACE, HYBRID SUSTAINABLE WORLDS and ECO-DPI co-funded for about 10M€ by the Veneto Region within the POR-FESR calls dedicated to Research and Innovation, are the projects coordinated by the Regional Innovative Networks (RIR) “ICT for Smart and Sustainable living”, ” Venetian Green Building Cluster” and “Veneto Green Cluster” and participated by the other Networks “Light in Veneto” and “Climate and Energy” in which the Veneto Universities and more than 50 companies of excellence from Veneto participated. The Presidents and Coordinators of the RIRs Mauro Borgo, Mauro Roglieri, Enrico Cancino, Albero Sozza, and Nicola Renoffio, among others, will speak about it.
“The Regional Innovative Networks are the spearhead and basic ingredient of our region’s innovation system; in a very few years they have allowed to initiate and solidify a complex and articulated process of collaboration between Veneto’s business system and Research Centers,” says Prof. Luciano Gamberini (University of Padua), coordinator of the Padovano Spoke of I-nest, the Veneto node of the European Digital Innovation HUB Dante and scientific coordinator of the ICT4SSL Network. “In the sphere of living, this innovative way of linking research and development has led the Veneto system in just a few years to be one of the main poles in Europe on technologies for living environments, as demonstrated by the projects presented, with a growing ability to innovate and internationalize technological products born in the territory and to lead the digital transition centering it on the quality of life and well-being of citizens,” Gamberini continues.
Thus the coordinator of the Hybrid Sustainable Worlds project, Eng. Mauro Roglieri: “RIR VeGBC is completing the first research and innovation project on green building promoted by the Innovative Network Venetian Green Building Cluster, named, co-financed by the Veneto Region (POR FESR 2014-2020, action 1.1.4 DGR 822/2020). The project involves 21 companies in the area, four regional universities and a research institution, focusing specifically on the specializations of as many as 5 RIRs (from sustainable living to creative industries) and has a total value of 3 million euros. It focuses on the following enabling technologies to test and develop new design and prototyping methods in order to achieve project goals:
- home automation and automation (RIR ICT for Smart and Sustainable Living, RIR Venetian Smart Lighting)
- technologies for building design and development, business models and value-added services (RIR Venetian Green Building Cluster)
- innovation and digitalization in marketing processes (RIR Euteknos)
- technologies for Cultural Heritage, technologies and virtual reality for artistic and cultural heritage (RIR Venetian Innovation Cluster for Cultural and Environmental Heritage)
Ennova Research has been a member of RIR VeGBC since its founding, having immediately grasped the networking and innovation opportunities that could be developed with RIR members and more generally with research organizations in our area. Currently, Ennova Research is collaborating with the HYBRID SUSTAINABLE WORLDS Project to design and and implement applications that can intelligently manage energy, contributing to achieving greater global sustainability
